Congratulations to all the students who participated in Englewood Idol at the BergenPAC on 1/26. DMHS's own Alondra Kelly was 1st runner up.

Teen Leadership Conference - Friday 3/16 from 8am - 2pm

The ZONE, in partnership with the JCC is again organizing a Teen Leadership Conference. 15 DMAE students have collaborated with students from 5 area high schools to organize a teen-led conference that will address pressing health and social issues confronting teens. DMAE students who are interested in participating will be bussed to the conference.

Pennies for Patients at DM and A@E

High school students are urged to bring in spare change to support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma and to improve the quality of life for patients. Collection boxes will be placed in both the North and South building's main offices and cafeterias from 2/6 through 2/24.

We invite members of the community to learn about the 2011-12 District Goals. These goals were presented to the Board of Education at a public meeting in January.

New! Academic Calendars for this Year and Next School Year

The Board of Education has revised this year's school calendar due to missed school days during the Autumn storm. Please note that school will now be open on May 29 and the last day of school is now June 21.

From the Superintendent

January, 2012

January begins the season for budget development for the 2012-2013 school year. The continuation of the sluggish economy means that the Board of Education and the administrators will continue to keep a strict eye on expenditures. We will be helped in these endeavors by our newly-appointed budget official, Maria Engeleit, who joins us from the Jersey City Public Schools.

Future Board meetings will include budget discussions and I encourage everyone to come out to make your opinions heard. A budget calendar will be available soon and will be posted to the Budget section of this site.

Board Meeting Calendar

The Board of Education of the City of Englewood has established a schedule for its regular business meetings between June 16, 2011 and May 10, 2012.

All meetings will be held in the Dr. John Grieco School, unless otherwise indicated. Meetings will convene at 6:30 PM and, when necessary and permitted by law, immediately adjourn to closed session. If there is no need or permitted topic for closed session, the meeting will recess until 8:00 PM at which time the meeting will reconvene in open session for the conduct of business. Action will be taken during open session.
