We are proud to share some exciting news from McCloud School that highlights the incredible talent and creativity of our students.

Earlier this school year, McCloud’s 5th grade classes participated in a national Mini Saga Writing Competition, where students were challenged to craft their own spooky story in just 100 words—a task that requires imagination, focus, and strong writing skills.

We are thrilled to announce that Dylan Betancur, a McCloud 5th grader, has been officially selected for publication in the upcoming anthology Spook Squad: Mystic Mischief for his mini saga, “The Smilers.”

This is an extraordinary achievement and a powerful reflection of Dylan’s creativity, voice, and dedication to his craft. We also extend our appreciation to Ms. Doviak, whose support and encouragement empowered students to share their writing on a national stage.

Dylan’s certificate, family letter, and original story are attached for our community to enjoy. Please join us in celebrating this remarkable milestone for one of our young authors!
