Our Law & Public Safety Academy students recently had an unforgettable experience during their visit to the New Jersey State House. Juniors and seniors took part in a guided tour where they learned how state government functions, explored the history and architectural design of the building, and gained firsthand insight into the legislative process.
One of the highlights of the trip was a hands-on bill-drafting simulation. Students stepped into the role of legislators and debated a real issue currently being discussed on the Assembly floor: Should high school start no earlier than 8:30 a.m.? While the bill didn’t pass, the discussion sparked thoughtful debate and meaningful connections to their coursework.
Experiences like this bring learning to life and empower students to see themselves as informed, engaged citizens and future leaders in law and public service.
A special thank you to Mr. Vincentty for organizing and supporting this impactful opportunity for our students.
