Close Contact and Quarantine

December 8, 2021

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As of December 1st, we have 23 positive cases of Covid which has resulted in us quarantining approximately 334 students in the district. Bergen County now has a high rate of infection so we will be vigilant in our contact tracing and Covid protocols.

Would you please talk to your children about keeping their masks on during the day, follow distancing, and handwashing. I have attached an outline that summarizes how we contact trace which results in quarantining students and staff. We work closely with the Department of Health in Bergen County when we quarantine students and staff.

As we move into the holiday season positive cases could rise as people gather. If anyone in your family test positive for Covid, would you please notify us immediately because that affects how we quarantine students that may be in contact with your child and others. We will do everything possible to keep students in school, but we also must be safe and secure. The travel guidelines for both in country and out of country are on the website. If you are traveling over the holidays, please review them. If travel requirements change you will be notified of immediately. Thank you for your cooperation I know how difficult this is for all, but we must take this seriously to prevent an outbreak.

Sincerely,

Ronald E. Bolandi

Interim Superintendent of Schools Englewood Public School District
