Dear Parents/Guardians and Staff,
As we get ready for spring break April 11th through the 15th, I would like to give you an update achievements and new COVID- 19 requirements. The district teacher/coaches gave an excellent presentation at the Board of Education meeting explaining our instructional adjustments to improve student achievement which can be viewed on the website. The teachers will present at our May BOE meeting to further explain our educational improvements.
There are new travel requirements that the CDC and the New Jersey Department of Health have issued. If you travel internationally or domestically and you were fully vaccinated* upon return you will need to self-monitor for symptoms. If you are unvaccinated, you would need to have a PCR test one to three days before you travel. After travel, you will need a PCR test within three to five days of your return, and you will have to self-quarantine at home for seven days.
If you do not test, you would have to quarantine for 10 days.
For quarantining in schools (if exposed to COVID-19), you are up-to-date** with your vaccinations for individuals who are twelve or older you do not have to quarantine. If you are not up-to-date** you would need to quarantine for five days.
If you test positive for COVID-19, you will have to quarantine for five days and return on the sixth day symptom-free. When you return on the sixth day, you are required to wear a mask during the 6th to 10th day.
If we are in the low or moderate range for COVID-19. Unvaccinated staff and students who participate in athletics have to test once a week. If we move into high or very high, then they would have to test twice a week.
Wearing a mask in schools is voluntary and the only time that students will have to wear a mask is when they enter the nurse’s office or if they come back from testing positive with COVID-19 (6 to 10 days after they return).

Mientras nos preparamos para las vacaciones de primavera del 11 al 15 de abril, me gustaría brindarles una actualización de los logros y los nuevos requisitos de COVID-19. Los maestros/entrenadores del distrito dieron una excelente presentación en la reunión de la Junta de Educación explicando nuestros ajustes de instrucción para mejorar el rendimiento estudiantil que se puede ver en el sitio web. Los maestros se presentarán en nuestra reunión de BOE de mayo para explicar más a fondo nuestras mejorías educativas.
Hay nuevos requisitos de viaje que han emitido los CDC y el Departamento de Salud de Nueva Jersey. Si viaja a nivel internacional o nacional y estaba completamente vacunado* al regresar, deberá autocontrolarse para detectar síntomas. Si no está vacunado, deberá realizarse una prueba PCR de uno a tres días antes de viajar. Después del viaje, necesitará una prueba de PCR dentro de los tres a cinco días de su regreso y deberá permanecer en cuarentena en su hogar durante siete días. Si no realiza la prueba, tendría que hacer una cuarentena de 10 días.
Para la cuarentena en las escuelas (si estuvo expuesto a COVID-19), está al día** con sus vacunas para las personas mayores de doce años que no tienen que ponerse en cuarentena. Si no está actualizado**, deberá ponerse en cuarentena durante cinco días.
Si da positivo por COVID-19, tendrá que estar en cuarentena durante cinco días y regresar al sexto día sin síntomas. Cuando regrese el sexto día, debe usar una máscara durante el día 6 al 10.
Si estamos en el rango bajo o moderado para COVID-19. El personal no vacunado y los estudiantes que participan en atletismo tienen que hacerse la prueba una vez por semana. Si pasamos a alto o muy alto, entonces tendrían que probar dos veces por semana.
El uso de una máscara en las escuelas es voluntario y la única vez que los estudiantes tendrán que usar una máscara es cuando ingresan a la enfermería o si regresan de dar positivo con COVID-19 (6 a 10 días después de su regreso).
