With pride, joy, and endless applause, the Janis E. Dismus Middle School community celebrated the graduation of the Class of 2026 during a beautiful ceremony filled with hope, reflection, and excitement for the future. Families, friends, educators, and community members gathered to honor the accomplishments, growth, and resilience of this remarkable class.

Special guests included Superintendent Dr. Marnie Hazelton, Board of Education President David Matthews, and Board Member Magalye Matos, whose presence reflected the district's unwavering commitment to our students.

Under the leadership of Principal Dr. Laura Mathieu and Assistant Principal Mr. Abraham Alarcon, students have been encouraged to dream boldly, lead with kindness, and support one another. Guided by Dr. Mathieu's motto, "We Rise Together… Let's Change the World!", graduates were reminded that their greatest impact comes when they lift others as they rise.

Keynote speaker Lamar Thomas brought the celebration full circle, returning to inspire students with a message of perseverance, purpose, and believing in themselves. His words served as a powerful reminder that success is built through hard work, character, and community.

As DMHS/A@E Principal Jorge Osoria accepted the Class of 2026, he left graduates with one final homework assignment: "Don't focus on who you want to be in September. Think bigger—envision the person you hope to become by June 2030, when we gather again to celebrate your growth, accomplishments, and the impact you’ve made.”

To the Class of 2026, your journey is just beginning. We look forward to supporting, encouraging, and celebrating every milestone along the way. Congratulations, Junior Raiders—we look forward to supporting you, cheering you on, and celebrating all that you will become in the years ahead. 🎉✨
