The Englewood Board of Education wishes to acknowledge the passing of Sam Trusty Sr. and Gerald Akridge.
Sam Trusty Sr. was a member of the Board of Education and served as President of the Board. He was a graduate of Dwight Morrow High School.
Gerald Akridge served as Dwight Morrow High School’s basketball coach for many years. His dedication and enthusiasm for our student athletes was enormous.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of Mr. Trusty and Mr. Akridge. They will be sorely missed.

Deadline Extended! Applications for the SSAC will now be accepted through Monday, October 2nd. The Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council (SSAC) meets with the Superintendent six times per year to advise, provide feedback and present viable solutions on District initiatives and programs. The SSAC also acts as the advisory council to the Student Board Member. The council is seeking to add Dwight Morrow High School and Janis Dismus Middle School students for the 2023-2024 school year.
